Respected Teachers And My Dear Colleagues !
It’s with immense pleasure and pride I humbly accept the responsibility of being the president of our prestigious PUNE ORTHOPAEDIC SOCIETY. I would take the opportunity to thank and assure you that I will do everything in my capacity to live up to the glorious standards set by my predecessors, understanding fully the arduous task involved.
Various Orthopaedic Seminars, CMEs and Courses are organised throughout the year in Pune city by spirited surgeons and institutes in their individual capacity and I wish to bring them all under one roof ie the POS so that we avoid repetition, have a well-structured and focused organisation catering to the delegates need. I therefore appeal to all of you to approach the POS while organising such events.

Various CMEs, conferences, training hands on courses and webinars covering all the aspects and subspecialities of orthopaedics are in the pipe-line and we would soon be releasing a calendar of these.
There are specialised training programmes planned for the budding residents and surgeons eg the AO PRE-BASIC course, hands on fracture fixation course and Cadaveric Courses , PG Teaching & Thesis Writing Courses, to name a few. Besides Academics we have also planned Social Awareness Programmes for Road Accidents, Osteoporosis, Free Camps etc.
We also plan to organise a few cultural programmes for our members and their families like musical evenings, fitness tips by experts and a family outings / trips/treks etc.
I pray that me and my executive committee will live up to the expectation of our members and are able to deliver our promises in a timely manner. While planning and executing all this I solicit your wholehearted participation, cooperation and enthusiasm so that we can once again make the POS a more vibrant , lively organisation full of comradereie and fun !
Any suggestions, corrections, ideas from any of our members are most welcome and we would whole heartedly support their initiatives.
